Community Action Place, Inc. provides proven, effective public health strategies to assist people who inject drugs in reducing personal harm (harm reduction) and those at highest risk for contracting HIV/STIs in limiting personal exposure (risk reduction).
Our agency is supportive of behavior and cognitive change on our participants' terms. We recognize that many people may be exploring change options, but are not quite ready to commit to the complete elimination of risk. We assist by creating an atmosphere of acceptance for ANY POSITIVE CHANGE and support the participants' plan to implement that change in thinking and/or behavior. We empower them with a safe space, the education, options, and tools needed to address their plans.
